part of the Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board.

Youth and young adults, ages 14-21, are invited to join us for Independence City 2023. Independence City is a fun and challenging simulation that provides an opportunity to experience life as an adult. Participation is FREE and includes lunch, simulation, and resources to help young people on their path to living independently.

New for This Year: Workshops! We have added two workshop blocks after the simulation. Workshops are designed to be engaging and assist participants on their next steps. The first workshop block will focus on helping participants identify the next step on their path to independence. Sample workshops include getting a job, getting into and paying for college, securing housing, buying a car. The second workshop block will explore barriers to independence and feature workshops like financial literacy, identifying scams, support for teen parents, and self-care/mental wellness.
